Abbas Afridi took 5 wickets
Abbas Afridi took five wickets in Qualifier 2 of the tournament with a hat-trick to get his team through to the final. Abbas was part of the Motrel Tigers in this match. Vancouver Knights batted first in the match. In front of the sharp bowling of Abbas Afridi, this team could only manage 137 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Motrel Tigers achieved a remarkable 1-wicket win, achieving the target with 3 balls to spare.

Coming in to bowl the 13th over for Motrel Tigers, Pakistan’s right-arm fast bowler Abbas Afridi took the hat-trick. Took consecutive wickets on the 4th, 5th and 6th ball of the over and completed his hat-trick. He took the wickets of Corbin Boss, Rassie van der Dussen and Najibullah. At one point the Vancouver Knights were looking in good shape. But, then when Abbas Afridi’s balls started spewing fire, the team disintegrated. At a time when the team looked to be heading for a big score of 90 runs in 12.3 overs, it suddenly fell apart.
