According to George Bailey, Labuschagne has not been seen performing in the ODI format. For this reason, he has not been made a part of the 18-member squad for the World Cup. George Bailey put it plainly ‘We know that Marnus when at his best is good enough to earn a place in the ODI team, we just haven’t seen him do it enough and regularly in the role we’d like to see him in’ want.’

Labushen will be important in ODI team in future:
George Bailey further said that ‘we have shown a lot of clarity with Marnus. He will be missing out on a few Australia A games so he can focus on some white-ball cricket. Bailey also said that this player will have a key role in Australia’s ODI setup in future.
ODI cricket career of Marnus Labuschagne:
Marnus Labushen’s form in ODIs was not good. He scored only 43 runs in 2 matches of the three-match ODI series played against India in March 2023. Nadz Radal on his ODI career, then this player played 30 ODIs Has scored 847 runs in 28 innings at an average of 31.37. This player, who has normal figures in ODIs, has done wonders in Test cricket. Labushen has scored 3789 runs in 76 innings of 43 matches at an average of 53.37.
