Celebration in Congress after Rahul’s membership is reinstated

Kharge said the BJP and the Modi government should utilize whatever time is left in their tenure by focusing on real governance instead of maligning democracy by targeting opposition leaders.

Explain that the Supreme Court in an interim order on Friday stayed Gandhi’s sentence in the criminal defamation case over the ‘Modi surname’ remark. The apex court in July issued notice to the Gujarat government and the complainant on an appeal by the Congress leader challenging the Gujarat High Court order.
The Gujarat High Court had before in its structure would not remain his sentence in a criminal slander case in which Rahul was condemned to two years in jail by a Surat court over his ‘Modi surname’ remark. Following his conviction in the case, Gandhi was disqualified as the MP from Wayanad in Kerala on 24 March.
