Residents of Uttarkashi were shaken awake once again as mild tremors rattled the region at approximately 8:35 AM on Monday morning. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded the intensity of the earthquake at 3.0 on the Richter scale. Thankfully, no casualties or damages have been reported so far.

  • On September 25, 2023, at approximately 8:35 AM, Uttarkashi experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or damages.
  • On September 11, 2023, mild tremors were felt in the Tehsil areas of Purola, Barkot, and Mori, with a magnitude of 2.9 on the Richter scale. No significant consequences were reported.
  • On August 29, 2023, earthquake tremors were felt in the late evening, causing some residents to temporarily evacuate their homes. No significant incidents were reported.
